Foxtail millet is the second most-produced millet after pearl millet and is an important food for human consumption in India, Korea, Japan, and Nepal.In India, foxtail millet was once an important crop in rainfed areas because of its drought tolerance. However, its area fell by more than half during the 1990s, mainly due to the introduction of more remunerative crops.
